यदि कोई Internet के माध्यम से कोई service प्रदान करता है तो उसे Cloud Computing कहते हैं | ये service कुछ भी हो सकती है जैसे की Off Site Storage या computing resources | यूँ कहे तो Cloud Computing एक computing की ऐसी style है जिससे की massively scalable और flexible IT-related capabilities को service के रूप में प्रदान किया जाता है Internet Technologies के मदद से |
इन services में infrastructure, platform, application और storage space जैसी सुविधायें उपलब्ध हैं | इसमें users अपने जरुरत के हिसाब से services का Use करते हैं और उन्ही services के पैसे देते हैं जिनकी वो Use करते हैं | इसके लिए उन्हें खुद के infrastructure बनाने के जरुरत नहीं है |
आजकल दुनिया में competition बहुत है और ऐसे में लोगों को Internet पर service हर वक़्त चाहिए वो भी बिना किसी देरी के | अगर कोई application कभी freeze हो जाये तो लोगों निराश दिखाई देता है | लोगों को उनकी जरुरत की service 24*7 चाहिए |
इन्ही requirement को पूरा करने के लिए हम पुराने mainframe computing के ऊपर जोर नहीं डाल सकते इसलिए इस समस्या को हल करने के लिए Clould distributed computing technology का Use लोगों ने किया | जिससे की बड़े business अपने सारे काम बड़ी आसानी से करने लग गए |
इसके लिए YouTube एक बेहतरीन example है Cloud storage का जो की करोड़ो users के video files को Host करता है |
Benefits of Cloud Computing
कम लागत होने के कारण ही बहुत सारी business organizations cloud computing services का use करती हैं इसके अलावा cloud computing में User अपनी आवश्यकतानुसार ही services का उपयोग करता है और उपयोग की गई services के लिए ही पैसे चुकाता है |
Cloud Computing के निम्नलिखित फायदे हैं :-

- कम computer hardware and software की required
- Better performance
- maintenance की कम problems तथा minimum maintenance लागत
- software update में आसानी

Cloud Computing 4 प्रकार की होती हैं –
- Private Cloud
- Public Cloud
- Community Cloud
- Hybrid Cloud
Private Cloud
इसमें cloud computing resources का Use किसी particular business organization के लिए किया जाता है|
Public Cloud
इस प्रकार के cloud infrastructure को दुसरे Service provider host करते हैं और जिन्हें बाद में public कर दिया जाता है | ऐसे cloud में users का कुछ भी control नहीं होता है और न ही वो infrastructure को देख सकते हैं |
Community Cloud
इसमें computing resources को community and organization को provided की जाती हैं |
Hybrid Cloud
ये Combination होती हैं 2 या 2 ज्यादा विभिन्न प्रकार के clouds (Private, Public and Community) तभी जाकर कहीं Hybrid cloud infrastructure बनता है जहाँ हरेक cloud एक single entity बनकर रहता है लेकिन सभी clouds combine होकर multiple deployment models तैयार करते हैं जो की फायेदे मंद हैं |

- Platform as a Service (PaaS)
